I have a couple of pipes that I dedicate to Condor Long Cut and I do sometimes sniff those or suck on the empty pipe to get the flavour. Magical stuff, Condor Long Cut.

I don’t currently smoke a pipe (just the occasional cigar). But I have a great-grandfather’s pipe that still smells good enough for the occasional sniff, and he died in 1938. I also have a meerschaum pipe that was a great-great grandfather’s: he died in 1914, but that pipe (though a bit musty) still smells good from his last smokes. 
If you ever catch the bug, those pipes are still going to be good smokers and a wonderful way to keep heirlooms.I don’t currently smoke a pipe (just the occasional cigar).
