Pipe Of The Day (POTD)

Smoked some John Bull Royal English in a Bones bent Dublin, a DGT left over from yesterday afternoon, while doing a little yard work. Now moving on to a Savinelli 114 KS Sherwood Rock Briar, one of my four original pipes from the late '70's with a bowl from my Remnant jar. It seems to lean toward an English blend at the moment. Then a bowl of Sutliff Mark Twain in a Avanti Rock Briar pot.

I don't smoke my wonderful pipes enough. Kendal Plug in an old SC marked Castello Bulldog. My grandfather's ship was part of Halsey's fleet. USS Taberer, destroyer escort. His ship was rewarded several honors for the rescue efforts after the typhoon. There is a picture of him in the book at the fleet reunion in the 80s or 99s. He was proud of his service and his ship. Doing wonders with his small town VFW nearly until he died in 2006.

Trying to learn more about the details of it.

With a little change in the weather, 73 this afternoon and now 34 with a light rain, I'm heading to the mobile smoking lounge with my new to me and barely smoked Abe Herbaugh with WC Blue Ridge; then Sutliff Match Sunrise in my RD Pipes Bamboo Brandy.

What do you think of the bag end?I've been contemplating a purchase of some

So far, I am enjoying all of the Country Squire tobaccos - the sampler was the way to go for the Middle Earth collection. I went to that vendor for “Shepard’s Pie”...my search for a Frog Morton-like tobacco- but I am glad I threw the sampler in. Bag End was a good smoke, it is in my wheelhouse of “english”, although they call it a Scottish blend. I like the latakia, even if this was done with a lighter touch than a full english

The Old Toby was a sugariest cased tobacco I have tried, it was almost like caramel as it smoked through.

Thanks for the reply

I've heard a lot of good things about the sheppards pie and that made me want to place an order with them.

Saw the reviews about the bag end and old Toby too. So they peaked my interest along with the NW trail to try.

We may have similar tastes. 😃

Probably the last warm day of the year. Enjoyed some Sutliff Ready Rubbed in a Chacom. Later, while shaving my melon with a Lereche Frame Back that hasn’t been in my rotation for years, I was thinking that I should combine these hobbies. I pity the boys that will be coming for my daughter in a couple of years. They’ll show up to a big bald guy shaving his head with a straight on the covered porch (still to be built) while smoking a cigar or pipe and drinking Scotch. (From the bottle of course) That will leave an impression. 😎
