I would have loved to go to Chicago, but not in the cards. I went hunting for morels instead. No luck there either. But the HH Burley Flake in a Bones Anse was great. See it resting on this 8’ diameter tree?
I've wanted to go to the Chicago show for a while now, and will probably find a way to do so once I'm back on the mainland. However, having been to the West Coast show in Vegas a few times, almost everyone I talked to there echoed some variation of the same theme: while Chicago is undeniably the biggest, Vegas is more fun. I've said before that I'd liken the atmosphere at the West Coast show to the world's biggest pipe club meeting, and although I will at some point make it to Chicago, I'm more looking forward to being able to go back to Vegas.
