Pins

Hey all,

I've got some razors I'd like to restore/rescale (3-4), and was looking online to find some pins/rods to pin the scales. First should I just buy a standard size (1/16?)
Also, I've seen some sellers on ebay selling rods and washers, whereas others sell small nail-like pins, with "locking washers". I have the feeling those washers actually don't look as good as a plain washer when its finished?

Anyone has advice on what to get? For the moment I'd like to just start with enough pins to do 3-4 razors, and I'm not sure yet either in silver or brass... It seem the only options on ebay are to buy kits for ~10 razors, at around 25$ shipped, which sounds a bit expensive?

I get my NiAg rods from Texas Knife Supply. Don't go the ebay package route as you are being seriously over charged.

BTW 100 washers aren't that many...especially if you catch the repinning rescaling bug.

Especially if you are prone to dropping them on the floor. Those little buggers are IMPOSSIBLE to see on the ground and my brass magnet isn't working....

This is where I get my rods, both nickel and brass rods..

No, that is the paper, not film. The paper is awesome for shining the steel to a mirror finish though. Buffing wheels cause a lot of heat, hand polishing does not. I got a variety pack from Amazon.

I went to "best sharpening stones" for PSA film and Stink & Stain for the non-PSA stuff.
