Pinaud Eau de Portugal

... smells like Fresca.

Really, dead ringer. Must be grapefruit?

Hmmm... Fresca. There's a saccharine-sweetness in the aroma of Fresca that I do not get with EdP.

Truly, every time I use Pinaud EdP, I remember the very best gin and tonic I ever drank. The limes and the pungent notes from the tonic water... Ah, bliss.

Interesting. Eau de Portugal is an "orange" scent. I get sweet and bitter orange from my Pinuad hair tonic which is what it is supposed to be. Wait till you get a snoot full of Penhaligon's Douro(Lords) edt.

I think it is the "bitter orange" which comes across as more of a general bitter citrus to me. I tend to think grapefruit is also bitter smelling. At least that is my explanation of why I think it smells "like" Fresca.

I'm going to resurrect my thread and correct myself. I used it tonight, it does not smell like Fresca.

It does, however, smell wonderful. I love orange.

I'll side with jkenton on the gin-and-tonic scent in Eau de Portugal. I've also recently tried Eau de Quinine, and I get the weird and possibly unfounded feeling that the formulas got mixed up.

I'd expect Eau de Quinine to smell like tonic water, but to me it smells like sweet port wine, which scent I would associate with a name like Eau de Portugal. Simple simon, I guess. I like them both, in the hair and on the face.
