Pin options.

Hey guys,
I've been looking around for other options to using standard pins. I dont trust myself with a hammer.
Hart uses a hew screw and a blind standoff, are there any other options out there? Or an actual name for this assembly? Anyone know where I could pick up something similar (Aside from Hart Steel for 5 bucks a pop)

You can use Hex head bolts from Micro Fasteners

Hex head bolt, Brass 0-80 x 1/2 HBB0008
Hex head bolt, Brass 0-80 x 3/4 HBB0012
Hex Nut, Brass 0-80 HNBS0080
Flat Washer Brass #0 regular FWB0, wide FWBW0

I did not know Hart sold the hex screws separately. Compared to the minimum order from MF, the Hart is the better option.

Look at Jantz Supply, Texas Knifemaker, or usaknifemaker. You are looking for hardened folder pivots. They come with either spline, torx, or hex heads.

the smallest hardened pivot folder seems to be about 1/8.. i know some holes in tangs are larger than others  no pun intended, but i feel like you would need to by all kinds of sizes just in case. is that right? i was wondering what buddel used on my custom without taking it apparent, and this is obviously it, but he can re-hardening make the hole size appropriate..
