Pin Hole

restoring the H.M Darling.

after buffing with compounds still has some remnants of pitting but think is close enough for me.

oddly the pin hole appears to be oval???

I would assume this is not right.

before I JB weld and redrill......can someone confirm whether this is jacked up or not?

thanks

While it is common in old blades, as a lot of the holes were punched at the anvil instead of drilled, and there is no harm in just going with it, I have used the JB Weld and drill fix with success. A tighter hole allows one to position the toe close to the wedge without fear of it drifting.

thanks all.

will have to see the tolerance or play when my scales arrive.

I dont know the diameter.....but seemed like a significantly larger out of round hole.
