Pilot illustration

A friend of mine did this many years ago. He sent it to Pilot as a possible advertising illustration. They said thanks and sent him a box of pens (G2? Not sure).
He's going to make a print of it for me. I'm going to be looking for a silk screener in the area that can make some t-shirts for me.

Yes, Andrew, he is. I do my best to support him. I have a dozen or more of his T-shirt designs, and buy more every time he displays.

Very cool sketches! I’m fairly certain that the pen company named itself after maritime pilots - the guys that steer ships through harbors and straights - not aeronautical pilots. But unlike Sailor, Pilot doesn’t put a nautical theme on their branding, so I guess it’s open for interpretation. And I do love the pictures. The top one has kind of a steampunk vibe; the bottom one has a Norman Rockwell nostalgia thing going on. Cool.
