PIF: SCS New Spice shave cream

Got it in this morning!
Tried to make a super lather with the glycerine and failed miserably! I ended up with watery foam. I haven't screwed up lather this bad, well ever. Not sure what was going on. That New Spice cream does seem kind of hard compared to the TOBS I am used to. I is a really nice scent though!

I love trying out the new stuff
I didn't realize that it was more of a cream than soap and started to try and load my brush like I do for soaps. That caused a mess, but once I figured that out, I just scooped out some and then made lather.
It has a great scent and worked fine after that.

I don't know what it is but using both the soap and the cream I keep getting really foamy and unsubstantial lather. I've never had these kinds of issues with any other soap or cream I've used.

I was expecting a tin of sample, not a whole box stuffed full of goodies!?!

The spice smells pretty darn good, and I'll have to troll through the earlier posts to see what is in the wooden bowl, and the smoky vial.
I'll label them afterwards before it heads out the door.

As this appears to be an SCS sampler box, I've placed some of my favorite artisan shaving soap.
SCS 'Refined' - formerly known as Gentlemans Best signature soap.
Enough there for 3-4 shaves - so please spread the love.
I tried the Dagger, and this morning tried out the New Spice cream.
As compared to Refined, the quality seemed a tad under par, and I definately liked the scent of Refined much better.
A great soap, but not adequate enough to add to the rotation.
Same with the New spice as well actually.
I'm comparing this more to QCS artisan creams.
Not a bad cream at all. Nice scent - not too strong or weak.
No irritation and slick enough to get the job done.
I just couldn't get the lather nice and billowy, and it ended up fairly thin.
This was even after adding in more product to compensate.
Perhaps if I were given more time and more sample I could nail down the water/product ratio better.
In the end though I get as good if not better results with alternate product.
I may revisit this later on...
EDT? Phenomenal staying power that I could smell through the next day until my morning shower.
