PIF Nice scales attached to a chipped blade

I have no idea if these are usable but the decorated scale looks nice. The one one the opposite side has some slight chipping on the edge but the side with the deer looks very cool. Anyway I am willing to Pass it Forward to whoever PM's me an address first.

My only request is that you actually intend and attempt to use the scales at least. I have no idea if the blade could be ground down past the chip.

I have been wanting to try a straight, I'd be willing to give it a go. I bet I could get that repaired or add a new blade cheaper than buying a full blown straight. So for the sake of the PIF:

Let me save you some misery and say that as a beginner to straights, you're better off buying an inexpensive shave ready unit from a hobbyist or out of the BST. This one won't be an easy or cheap fix by any means. It's best left to an experienced hobbyist that will enjoy it for the challenge.

Looks like a fun challenge, I'm in (if you consider shipping up North to Canada). I guess the blade can be saved but I'm really not sure its worth the trouble as it will end-up being a short 5/8 (or smaller?) having a weird shoulder. The scales do look very nice however, I'm sure they'd look charming just with a little polish.

Fair enough, then "I'm Out" :001_tt2:

I'll have to find me a good option once my wife cools down from my recent acquisitions, from what I've seen, straights are extremely expensive.
