There seems to be a healthy debate on the subject of longevity for current razors and whether to go modern or vintage. As I have figured it out during my almost 8 years of DE shaving (well I'm a slow thinker...
) the only way to know is to try out the options. To help the members of this board I have therefore decided to PIF a few cornerstones of the Gillette production.
The razors are from left to right: Super Speed 40’s style, Super Speed (Flare Tip) 50’s style (actually B4 = Q4 of 1956) and a long handled Super Adjustable (aka. Black Beauty) from Q3 in 1970 (P3).
The razors are in good user grade with no plate loss. They are sanitized and thus ready to use. They are built like tanks (from ancient times when the lowest bidder did not get the contract
) and will last your lifetime. They have proved their qualities by already lasting a lifetime while remaining in good condition. Nothing in the current production (short of stainless steel razors) can measure up to this quality and longevity!
