I have been preparing a PIF for several weeks and now that I've finally got it fully assembled I figured I might as well take advantage of the timing and connect it to the Super Bowl a little bit. Anyone interested in entering need only to choose which team they think will win and include that team in their reply. The winner will be randomly selected from those who correctly choose the Super Bowl champion. Here's what you're playing for.
I know it's sometimes hard to choose shaving gear when there is so much variety available. Choosing between a badger or boar brush, vintage or modern razor, soap or cream, and choosing blades can be a daunting task. So I figured, why choose, here for one of you is a little bit of both and a bunch of blades too. All items, with the exception of the vintage razor of course, are brand new, never been used.
Badger brush: Simpson Duke 2 in best badger.
Boar brush: Semogue Owner's Club with cherry wood handle.
Vintage razor: Gillette Fatboy (E4 in excellent/minty condition)
Modern razor: Merkur 37C slant
Soap 1: D.R. Harris Arlington
Soap 2: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Cream: Geo F. Trumper's Coconut Oil
Blades: 100 blades including ten varieties
This PIF is open to all members of Badger and Blade. This is a gift intended for someone who will appreciate it for what it is. I ask that items not be sold or traded away. Re-PIFing items you already have, don't want, can't use, or just want to give to another is fine.
Entries will be accepted until 4:00pm mountain time (6:00pm eastern) on Feb 3 which is 30 minutes before the start of the game. Editing your post to change your choice of winner will also be accepted until that time. Any entries posted or edited after the cut off time will not be eligible to win. The winner will be announced in this thread on Feb 3 soon after the game ends. The winner will be asked to send me his/her mailing address via private message.
