What's new

Picked up some Stephan Island Lime

I picked some of this up from Atlanta Barber this week and since it's not talked about much I'll give my few impressions.

First, the lime here is very dry. It actually smells like a real lime. No sweetness to it. After it's on about 15 minutes, I get maybe a hint of added lemon and wood. Not sure.

You could wear this as a cologne or aftershave, but I really think most people today would consider this to be an AS strength. It is long lasting, but with almost zero sillage so someone would have to stand next to you, or hug you to smell it. Even I have to stick my nose close after it dries, but it does last.

Overall, I would say Island Lime was aimed squarely at professional barbers so they could offer (or splash) on their customers a very inoffensive and subtle lime fragrance. For the price, it does not make a bad summer body splash.

Anyone else tried this?

It's a great aftershave and a terrific value. Granted there are many higher end aftershaves out there that are good but dollar for dollar this product is a keeper.

I've had a few days to wear this now, and it's growing on me. Definitely a dry soapy lime in my book. I put some in a small sprayer bottle as I've found I like it on my shirts as well. Don't buy this though if you want anything strong, it stays close to the skin on me.

I just got a new bottle of this myself. I totally get the dry lime feel. There is ZERO candy/sweetness to this cologne. I am really enjoying it.

One of those things I have always wanted to try but just never got around to pulling the trigger. We are easing out of lime season but I want to try this in the Spring.

Their Island Lime is one of my favorites. The scent is long lasting on me, but still subtle. I could wear it year round, but there's too many other favorites that would get neglected if I did.

I know the feeling. I got 3 other aftershave the other day and I haven't been able to force myself to use them yet. Gonna have to use some will power tomorrow and try something else. This Island Lime is so good though that it will be a tough action to follow :)
