^hard to compete with shiny blue Skoda!!

anyway, this Monday morning at the wetland boardwalk.
predawn, this night crown heron was hanging around on the boardwalk railing and couldn't quite decide where to go as I approached...

later, some of the regulars made appearances.
great blue heron, purple gallinule, snowy and great egret...

What beautiful creatures my friend! Thank you for freezing them in time. I look at old photos from history and am ALWAYS so impressed that today photography is so ..... approachable. Your work is amazing.

thx for the nice words!
but, TBCH, 'old photos' can't compare technology-wise to current day!
ISO 12,800 in several of those shots! (old photos were, at best, ISO 400!)
f/2.8 lenses, image stabilization, noise-reducing software, photoshop toning, etc., etc.!
nevertheless, those old 'guys' taught us a lot!

the fishermen (and fisherwomen) are all around...

pelican attacking osprey was a common event...
