Most snow crystals have six sides. It has to do with the way the water molecules arrange themselves as they freeze and form. But occasionally you'll get some that double up and make a twelve sided crystal.

I expected you to say something like a 400mm with 2 multipliers. I’m impressed that it cropped that well.

It's a micro 4/3 sensor so it's a 600mm full frame equivalent. It is a pretty heavy crop though, but for most internet viewing you really only need a 4 or 5 MP.

When the weather warms up a bit I will give it a shot. I have a Canon 80D with either a 70-300 or 55-255 zoom. I would a lot rather have a fixed focal length, but I’m but a poor man and can’t afford such luxuries.
