penworks vs vulfix 660 vs other?

I'm looking for an economical (50ish or less) brush that's similar in size to the VDH kit brush.

So far on what I've seen and been recommend I've been looking at vulfix 660 and the penworks (http://www.penworks.us//index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_73&products_id=227)

I mainly use soaps and am concerned that I don't want anything with too much flop nor too scratchy to do face lather. I go between bowl and face lathering depending on mood.

as always any help is appreciated

I have a slightly larger Penworks brush than the one you linked to (mine is 22mm in Finest Badger), that I purchased when Penworks was running a sale on the board. It is a superb brush, that lathers both creams, and soaps with ease.

Honestly, a comparable brush in a brand name, would likely cost way more.

I really think you can't go wrong with a Penworks brush.

I love mine, and have no desire to purchase another brush. I don't suffer from SBAD, but do suffer heavily from SCAD.

I have a Penworks finest badger brush from that same sale which has basically taken my Crabtree and Evelyn Best Badger out of my rotation (and that brush is great - see reviews).

Both were the same price and the Penworks is simply better. YMMV.

Penworks is a great value - go for it.

I have been using the Vulvix 660 from Lee's. The brush is sufficient and Lee is a tremendous help. I would recommend the 660 super.

Another recommendation for Penworks.

I have a Penworks TruStone "Chubby" and it is my favorite brush -- even though I have about 15 high-end brushes including Rooney Finest, Simpson 2-Band, Shavemac D01, and Simpsons 3-Band Best & Super.

You can't go wrong with Penworks, especially for the price. (PS-In my experience Tony at Penworks is absolutely fantastic to work with. If you send a PM to Penworks telling him what you are looking for, I bet he can make a recommendation or may have some special price deals for B&B members that don't show up on the website.)
