Penhaligon's Shave cream or soap?

 A choice between Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet Shave Cream or Shave Soap?

Which would you choose and why? Would be great to hear from people that have tried both, regardless of the scent.

Many thanks!

The soap with Tallow as the 5th ingredient is very good but a class below the old formulation of BB or English Fern with Tallow listed first (but then again, those soaps are for me, the best ever made). I'd put it on a par with DR Harris soaps.
The cream however, is my absolute favourite. The same performance as other heavyweights like Castle Forbes and Santa Maria Novella but much easier to lather.

I have the BB cream and the EF soap. While using both they both create superb lather. I have noticed the cream IMO would be better for thicker whiskers and soap for an everyday shave for me at least.

Tough one. Probably my favorite cream. The soap's very good, but it's not my favorite. I'd rather use the soap, but if I were inclined to use creams... I also need very little of the cream to get a good lather, so it's not nearly as expensive as it seems.

Seems that many feel the soap is on par with other British brands, whereas the cream may be a notch above.

Guess I'll go with the cream for now, even though it won't last as long.

Soap....Soap...Soap....!!!!

+1. The combination of thick, slick lather is really tough to beat. Of course, if you want a scent other than BB and EF, cream seems to be your only option (someone more knowledgable should correct me if I'm wrong).

So the soap has a thicker and richer later than the cream?
From my experience, the soap always has a thinner less coushiny than creams, at least with other brit brands I tried.

Last chance to weigh in on this, I gotta do this today.

If their soap is really on par with T&H or Harris soaps, both of which I've tried, then I'll go for their cream. If their soap is so spectacular, then I'll opt for that.

?????

The tallow-first soap is MILES better than T&H or Trumper's, imo. One of the world's best.

I never tried the tallow-fifth, and I'm not sure I've heard a thing about the tallow-free reformulation.

I have the Endymion cream and the EF soap. They are both great. There is no way to choose one over the other. You have no choice but to buy them all. Resistance is futile.

In my hands, the cream lathers up airier than the soap. Both give great shaves, but I prefer the soap. That said, it's the tallow first English Fern, and that's tough to come by now with the reformulation hitting the shelves any day now.

I've never tried their cream, or their new formulation. However, if they are really better or as good as Castle Forbes, I'd say that's a can't loose product.

BTW, the Harris soaps are among my favorite products, so I'd say it's hard to loose either way.

Let us know your thoughts.
