Penhaligon's in my Trumpers

My sampler pack from Trumper arrived today. As I was unpacking, I found a sample vial of Penhaligon's Opus 1870.
Is there a connection between Trumper and Penhaligon? Or perhaps they share the same shipping facility and the Opus mistakenly found its way into my order? Anyone else who has ordered the sampler from Trumper gotten Penhaligon with their order?

I know some people don't like Opus 1870, but I wouldn't call it "vile"

Jason, I wasn't aware of any connection between Trumper and Penhaligon's, but now you've got me wondering. That's an interesting occurrence. One option is to write to Trumper and ask them what happened. I, for one, would be interested in hearing the answer.

Are you sure it's Opus 1870 in that vial? Come to that, are you sure those are Trumper fragrances in their vials?

Perhaps you've stumbled upon a (fragrant) wormhole into an alternate universe...

I sent an email to Trumper informing them of my find in their sampler pack. Here is their response:

"Thank you for your email.

As we are not associated with Penhaligon’s in any way we are not sure how that would happen but thank you for confirming safe receipt of your order.

Kind Regards"

So the mystery continues...

Gents, I have figured it out. You see, on the same day my Trumper's sampler pack arrived, I also received a bottle of T&H 1805 ASB that I had purchased from a fellow member at B&B. The Penhaligon's was with the ASB, not with the Trumper's sampler pack.
So, my thanks goes to kicker245 for the Penhaligon's Opus 1870 sample. To the rest of B&B and Trumper - I apologize for leading you down a false trail.

Maybe there's a mole working at Trumpers - a secret Penhaligon employee who works under cover and sneaks in the competitor's product. Maybe they even planted those ivory shaving brushes a couple of years ago. It's pretty cutthroat in the high end fragrance business after all. Let's just hope there are no Lilac Vegetal substituted for Marlborough scares followed by a highly publicized recall fiasco.
