Penhaligon Racquet

I had a couple of samples I just got around to trying. I have to say that the fragrance is one of the best I've come across in awhile.

Has anyone else tried this?

I agree, this is one the freshest colognes out there. Equally good in the summer and winter. I love the powder dry down. Actually reminds me of Coates Lavender. I was lucky enough to pick up the Shave cream as well. Highly recommended

LOVE it.

I consider it THE perfect sport fragrance, but not only that, but it is quite versatile as well. It's actually got some incense in there, but the powder balances it out so nicely, while the musk and citrus do their thing. You could wear this to work, to your couch, to hit on a girl, or whatever else you want!

I highly recommend committing to a bottle!

It smells like the good life. In my mind it goes with mornings at the tennis club with the pretty little wife, a Mercedes and a Golden Retriever.

Raquets is one of my favorites from Penhaligon's one of my favorite perfumers! I have been to five (I think) in London, to the old New York store before it closed and to the one in Paris as well and the service was excellent in most except the New York store! They were very helpful, informed and quite pleasant in the Paris store and there was a gal named Rosemary in the Arcade in London who was also very helpful and very sweet!

Other favorites from Penhaligon's are my most favorite, "English Fern", also "LP No. 9" "Castile" (although they used to have an Eau de Cologne that was excellent!) and I have a sample of "Quercus" sitting on my desk in front of me that is exquisite! As you can guess, Penhaligon's is one of my favorite perfumers!

Raquets is my favourite Pen's fragrance - it is a nice, rich, powdery vetiver that has very good staying power on me.

Its more mellow/softer, complex and richer than Guerlain's Vetiver - which is a sharper scent with a more pronounced vetiver.

Both of these are great scents and I wasn't a huge fan of vetiver until I tried Raquets and having got some exposure to vetiver in a scent with more notes, I got turned on enough to buy the Guerlain.

Both are great scents that I think are great for everyday wear.

I did not care for this when I first tried it - I didn't hate it just didn't seem to work on me. Maybe I need to revisit it?
Now English Fern, Opus 1870, Endymion and Blenheim Bouquet - wow!

Thank you, you explained it perfectly. Guerlain is more ....pronounced. Racquets is more softer and definitely complex. It also seems to last longer than Guerlain. I just wish it was the same price as Guerlain.
