The skipping wasn't all that bad, but I just took a look at the nib. The tines were slightly misaligned, but don't know if that was the issue. I will ink it up again and see.

Ok I'm relatively new to fountain pens and I've never paid as much for a pen as this one no doubt cost so this is worth the paper it's written on but I'd be contacting the vendor you got it from and requesting a replacement. There's no way a pen that much should have skipping etc.

By the way, excellent review and a really nice looking pen. Lava ash from Mt Etna? Very cool.

You have two. Make sure you get enough for this, an M800, and the Edison vac filler.
