Pen PIF received - Pilot Metropolitan

As promised, here's a quick pic of the PIF I received from Dave (Dave258). It's a beautiful pen and writes very nicely. I can't say thank you enough for the opportunity to try this out:thumbup1: He included two generous ink samples of B&B Benevolent Blue Badger and B&B 5 O'Clock Shadow. Awesome!

Although, if I fall down another AD rabbithole, I may retract my gratitude...:glare::laugh:

Sweet, gotta love free pens, of course if it makes you start buying pens like a drunken sailor, maybe not so much.

BEAUTY!! I have not only fallen down the FP HOLE, BUT THE ROLLERBALL HOLE, AND NOW THE PENCIL HOLE TOO!!! Just picked up a Uni(Mitsubishi) Kuru Toga Roulette ( .5mm) , metal body. Nice pencil, lead auto rotates so it stays well rounded, no dullness!!

Ok...so a few days writing with it and I DO like it. The ink flow seems nice and the pen feels good in hand...but...the line is too thick for my tastes and handwriting. Any suggestions for a finer nib? Not looking to break the bank here either (have to move the little family in a month). What say you guys?

Thanks!

The nibs from a Pilot 78G fit the Metropolitan, so does the Plumix nib and the Prerra nib, but Prerras go for about 50 bucks... I have not used a Metropolitan yet, but I find the Medium nib of the 78G to be a bit too fine for me. I wonder if the medium nib on the Metro is the same.

Pilot 78g with a fine nib off of ebay. Last I looked it costs $9.99 shipped. That is (I think) the least expensive option for getting a fine nib that fits the Metro. I have one of those nibs in my Metro right now. The line is a lot finer than the default medium. You can ink them both up even, so you have a fine and a medium pen ready to go for whatever task is at hand.

You can buy a Pilot 78g, in a fine nib, and swap it into the metro. If you buy a black 78g, you can just swap the barrel, as the Nib and section are the same.

EDIT; RAT beat me to it :)

lol I wasn't trying to. I wish I could have gotten a black 78g, but they seem out of stock of them in black with a fine nib... still...
