Pelikan 800 series fountain pens - anyone else use these

Anyone else using a Pelikan 800 series fountain pen ?

I own two of these and with 54 years of writing with fountain pens, these are the smoothest most well balanced writing instruments I've ever used. And I DO
use these.... every day of the year for at least an hour. Personal correspondence, journals, short stories, poetry and grocery lists. These are not inexpensive but will last a lifetime or three if cared for.

If you use a fountain pen this is one of the best imo.

Good to know about the Pelikan 800! I'm going to be tapped out for awhile in 2010, but when I get back into buying pens, this will be one of the first ones I look up!

I used to have the "Green Ocean" version of the 800, and it was a fabulous pen. I sold it quite a while ago. I've also had the Pelikan 1000, as well as the 200 demonstrator pen. Every Pelikan I've had has been a fabulous writer.

I have a Pelikan San Francisco, an LE from their "cities" series. I had the nib made into an EF by Richard Binder. It's a wonderful pen. I just wish it were a little larger; too bad Pelikan based the Cities series pens on the 600 rather than the 800.

Of all the fountain pens I've owned, this Pelikan and my Parker 51s are the most reliable. It's uncanny. You can even leave it stored with ink in it for six months and when you pick it up, it writes first time. A truly remarkable pen.
