Peace Valley Lavender Shaving Gel

I'm staying at a hotel in the Philly area that provides different products from the Peace Valley Lavender Farm (from Doylestown, PA) to their rooms. Soap, cream, etc. The soap has a great scent so I bought a couple of things to take back home for my wife. I also picked up a jar of the shaving gel just to see what it's like. It's a light, brushless gel made with aloe--about the consistency of a thick soup. Terrific lavender fragrance. I'm not a brushless gel or cream fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I thought what the heck.

To my surprise, it worked very nicely. BBS shave, no burn. Feels great. I don't think that this is going to find a place in my rotation, but it'll be fun for an occasional change up.

After seeing my Marine friend posting about "Peace Valley," I was going to post the You Tube clip of the peace symbol/born to kill scene from Full Metal Jacket, but there's too much profanity for the board! :blushing:

I see they also make an aftershave "soother," which I presume is either a balm or a gel. Too bad they don't offer much information about it on their website. I don't suppose you had a chance to try that, too?

No, they didn't have the full range at the hotel. The rooms had soap, and they were selling soap, body lotion and some other stuff at the front desk. The only shaving product was the gel. I thought that it worked pretty well but I'm not ready to throw my soap out just yet. I might try to convert it into a preshave. It seems to be quite aloe-laden, so I bet that a balm would be nice. I'll look for it the next time I get up that way.
