PCB Scales?

I'm itching to start another straight razor project and I was considering material options for scales. Being the kind of guy who has tons of e-waste littering his closet, I figured that I'd put some of it to use. I'm considering using this old motherboard as the basis of my next creation(s). Does anyone have any experience working with this sort of material? My plan is to use my desoldering iron to remove the components & sharp pins from the board. I'm wondering if my scroll saw would be best or if I should use the cutting wheel on my Dremel. I want a nice clean cut without tearing up the board. If all goes well, I should have enough material for several sets. I'll probably pick up more GD #66 razors off eBay for them.

The board is an old MSI that I had collecting dust. The under side of it is a dark green (almost black) color with subtle traces visible. I couldn't get a good photo of it without the flash blowing it out. But the traces actually shimmer differently depending on the angle the light hits them.

A year or so ago there were several shown here and other forums. They actually looked quite interesting. I'm not sure if anyone explained how they made them or not. I'm sure someone else will come along who knows more.

Wow! This stuff is a pain in the butt to work with. Removing the pins is tedious - but cutting the board is nasty work. Between the dust (masks required) and the strength of this stuff, it's not exactly woodworking. It's already snapped one blade in my scroll saw and drained the battery on my Dremel once. I'd say that it's by far the worst material I've worked with so far. Hopefully I'll be able to get at least one nice set out of all this.

That's it! I'm so over this. Between the "fun" of working with this material and the snapping of blades & cutting wheels, it's just not worth it. I'll stick to conventional materials.
