Week nine and final week for me in this Participation PIF. Final blade for me as previously mentioned is the Indian Gillette 7 O’clock Green. Fifth shave for the week and this blade is still going well. No blood today, a little bit of sting when I applied my Alum Block and a couple of red marks but overall I am still happy using this blade.
Ninth week and second last shave in this Participation PIF. Last blade of course is the Indian Gillette 7 O’clock Green blade. Another okay shave this morning, no blood and just a little more sting when I applied my Alum Block. Overall I quite like this blade but I do like Gillette 7 O’clock blades.
6th shave with the Treet 7 Days. The blade wasn’t rough or tugging, but it wasn’t cutting well enough.
The Treet 7 Days removed the beard well for the first 4 shaves per side. It isn’t as sharp as some, but it was comfortable.
The 7 O’Clock and the 7 a.m. just didn’t quite do it for me. I could use them. I don’t think, with my beard the way it is now, that I would acquire more of these two.
Week nine and today was the final shave for me in this wonderful Participation PIF. Seventh and final shave on the Indian Gillette 7 O’clock Green blade. No blood this morning, I did have some sting when I applied my Alum Block but luckily there was no red marks either. I would have to rate the Indian Gillette 7 O’clock as my preferred blade in this Participation PIF. Many thanks to @lancre for suppling the blades and @Grundi for distributing the blades all around the world. Can’t wait for the next challenge.
Razor: Razorock Mission Brush: Razorock plisoft synthetic (bruce handle) Soap: Art of Shaving peppermint Blade: Treet 7 days Platinum
Used this blade for past 2 weeks, shaved 4 times. It's a mild-medium blade, best used in an aggressive razor. I also have a DE89 and 34C, which I wouldn't pair with this blade. It's also nicked me a couple times, so overall it's a decent medium blade with some rough edges.
I realized that I never posted conclusions for this PIF.
It goes to show that there can be large variables in blade and razor combos. I really like the Treet 7 Days, but not in a Tech. The 7 AM felt better than the 7 Days in the Tech, but I would need to experiment more with it. There might have been some QC issue with the 7 o'clocks. It was ok in the Tech, but the other blade tore my skin up in the SuperSpeed. In the SuperSpeed, the 7 Days and 7 AM were pretty close, with the Treet a little better. The Gillette was excluded for giving me 3rd degree razor burn.
I also had a vintage 7 AM that I tried. It was bad. I have been hesitant to try any more blades from the company, but it seems they have made great improvements. Now that they produce multiple brands, I would consider buying others to try.
