Parker Razor Company Info

I bought a Parker 91R from Amazon a month ago. This is my first DE safety razor. Since I was new to it, I didn't notice until about two weeks ago the comb that the blade sits on is defective. The teeth slants are not straight but bent off to one side.

The explain this better with a bad graphic, mine looks like this...

I contacted Amazon about getting that one part replaced as I like the razor and, since it is my first, I want to keep it. All they can do is refund it and I will have to re-order a new one.

I was wondering if anyone had information about the Parker Razor Company. I dug around on the Internet to try to find their company and contact information without any luck. Perhaps they can send me a new replacement comb. I know there might be some used ones out there, but I really want a new one for my new razor.

Parkers are made in India (to the best of my knowledge) and are known for spotty quality control. Good luck getting in touch with them though.

Unless I'm missing something, that's perfectly normal for the 91R. Quite a few razors these days have slanted grooves.

That is normal, all my razors are slanted like that. Look at pictures of the Parker 91R and they are supposed to look like that.

I want to resurrect this thread, because I've got a problem with my 22R. The blade is not properly aligned in the head. It's being bent on one side, so it's not the same as the other. One side looks good and is parallel, as it should be. The other side is not parallel, as the blade is being twisted when I close the razor.

Anyway, I just pulled up their website and nada. No phone number, no address, no web contact, no nothing. I actually filled out the web form to become a dealer, to see if I can get a response. Outside of that form, they just tell you to go to the dealer which in my case is not feasible.

Have you tried holding the blade by its side tabs and keeping it aligned while you close the razor? Or the problem is a bent safety bar?

Perhaps you can fix it, but I'd recommend getting a Super Speed or one of the adjustable Gillettes if you like TTOs.

I did try to hold the blade in place while closing it up and that didnt work, so I think its bent. I purchased this razor new in the parker box and it came this way, so I'd like to see what parker has to say about it. Seeing as they're proving to be quite elusive, I'm not waiting on them. I have another razor that is true, so I'm using that.

I know it's got to be bent, but seems bizarre that only one side of the blade is noticably off while the other edge is straight as it should be. I would have thought both edges would be off. Regardless, if I cant get in touch with parker, then I'll clamp it in the bench vise to see if I can persuade it back into form. I'm sure the pot metal head will respond well to that!
