Parafilm PIF!

Hey all you cellar-heads, I bought a roll of 2 inch parafilm...by 250 ft long. I don't need all of it and never will. So I'm PIFing some!

CONUS only. You'll get as much as I can send in an envelope with a stamp.

Just say "I'm in" to get some.

There will be 6 winners!

PIF will run for a few days or something.

I use 4 inch lengths and cut it into 3rds. By my calculations I have enough for 2250 tins. I currently have less than 200 tins. I may quadruple or quintuple my cellar...But I'll still have plenty to spare. With that in mind, I am hesitantly declaring that I will never run out.

That's one possible interpretation. Another is share the awesome!

And THEN buy more tins!

Each envelop has 25 4" strips, which if you cut into thirds (long-ways) will be enough for 75 tins.
So, after this PIF I'll only have enough for 1600 more tins.

Yeah. Take a strip and wrap it around the tin. The stuff sort of stretches (its weird, but enjoyable) and sticks to itself. You'll get it if you try to use it...

You basically just take the roll, wrap it tightly around the tin a bunch of times, and it forms a seal around it. It's made partially of wax, so think of it kind of like wax tape.

I actually found a video of a sciency guy using it for a similar purpose.

I disagree with his "wrap once," but tobacco is more important than some stupid laboratory culture anyway.

I just wrap a few times to be safe. I have a lot of tins bumping up against one another, so I'm just hedging against the wrap getting knocked off.

I did notice that. You're probably right... I don't want to rewrap all my tins...
