IMO, oak was a terrible choice. The strong grain pattern made putting designs on the stem or bowl a mess. For the next try, will use poplar and instead of screws, will fit the mold into a base to keep it closed. I think that is why the example is longer than mine.

After drying overnight and cutting off the excess / rubbing out the pipes. Reminds me of me... not pretty but functional and cool. [emoji15] I expect 50% failure rate when I fire them (fire pit kiln) next week.

A mid week drying, 200 degrees in the oven for an hour. The tiles are for the test fire, and if the hold up, maybe I can use them as hydrostones.
