Palmolive shave stick

I received my order from Superlather this am of a two-pack of Palmolive shave sticks from the UK, delivered by the postman just in time for my shower and shave today. I grated one into a bowl, as I don't face lather generally, although I might run the other stick as a stick - we'll see.

I soaked my brush and put some water on top of the puck as I showered. I dumped the water from the bowl of soap into my lather bowl, shook out and squeezed my brush dry, and swirled 15 to 20 times on top of the soap.

An amazing, thick load of soap on the brush was the result. I went to work in the bowl and had a thick, tallowy lather in no time.

The shave was fantastic, and the scent is so simple and clean - I am seriously impressed.

Our UK brethren have it made - to have access to this at less than $2 a stick is an amazing deal.

I have NEVER seen this product here in Canada. I am heading off to the local 'British goods' store to see if they can bring some in for me on their next order - might save a bit on the shipping.

Palmolive is surprisingly cheap and works well. The Aussie version down under is also a good product but different to the British product.

I bought it for 68p here in the UK and was really surprised at the quality. Always makes a really nice lather very quickly (I face lather with it) and gives a good shave. Very little scent so it doesn't offend.

Palmolive gives you much more bang for your C$ than most soaps twice its price. I encourage you to give the face lather a try with this (and any other stick), as they give you a close, moisturizing shave.

You've been ripped off mate, it's only 44p at all ASDAs.
For the price, it's an amazing soap, though I don't get as nice a shave out of it as MWF, but that goes without saying.
It performs better than Trumpers Sandlewood IMO, which is many times the price.

Probably, the best price performance champ that we have seen thus far. Sadly, only really accessible for our European breathren!!

If Haligonian or Daven1986 want to send me 6 stix, I'll cover cost, and postage, and maybe even toss in a bottle of Aqua Velva original sport to sweeten the deal??

Grrr no ASDA near me - I got it from Superdrug.

Oh yeah, it's a great performer. I bought one from eBay.co.uk, since I can't find it here, but it was worth the extra cost.
I'm slowly expanding my shaving sticks collection and this is in first place along Irisch Moos, two different beasts, but I love them both.

Unfortunately we don't know what we've got til it's gone.

It's so cheap ($1) that it is often overlooked because of its humble price tag and packaging...doesn't need it but try a super lather with stick and cream.

I'm going to be in Auckland and Bay of Islands next month. Looking for the Palmolive and Boots sticks. Any chance of finding a store near the docks?

Hi, I´m from Germany!

The Palmolive-shaving-soap is extremely popular here in Germany, since decades.

It´s very cheap (from 0,69 EUR - 0,99 EUR, 50g).
It´s very effective (prepares the beard great).
It´s very available in all drugstores/grocerystores here in Germany.

It smells soapy fresh and is an traditional product, which is mostly used by father and grandfather, too.

Highly recommended. http://up.picr.de/3125008.jpg

I'm not taking any chances on reformulation or this stick disappearing, so I stocked up. I paid something like $0.70 per stick!

I have 18 stix winging their way to me as I type. The hoarding impulse is a scary thing - but I love the way my face feels this week, and it would be a shame to lose the chance to stock up on this....

I think I'll end up buying more, and throw them in a ziploc and store them in the basement - cool and dry.

Some sharp operator could bring these to the USA, rebrand them as a deluxe snooty soap called "Duke of Palm" and sell them at $9.99 a pop and we'd all be backslapping each other over the return of affordable quality tallow soap.

Hey, you just need a fancy label. Don't bother with milling, just change the box or paste a new label over the existing one.

We're suckers for top hats and monocles...have you seen Mr. Peanut?
