Palmolive Lemon Cream??

I have a couple of tubes of the Green Palmolive and absolutely love it. Its a great cream indeed. This cream is the best of any I have ever used, and the hard soap is a very close second. I've tried most of them but i like Palmolive...

I have this cream and it is worth trying. For the price, you can't go wrong. Try getting your hands on Godrej as well if you can.

I just saw a few tubes of Old Spice also...

Never tried it. I have a Gillette Lime over here that I need to try but usually, Indian shaving creams are cheap and good!

Palmolive is a popular cream here in India, but is a noche below the Godrej and Oldspice in the lather department. the scent is pretty good, perhaps better than the Godrej / Old Spice lime, but the compare ends there.

None the less a good cream and I have it in an not-so-often rotation.

Palmolive is the only cream I do NOT like at all.
No slickness, bad lather and awful smell.
Two shaves and it went straight in the trash can.

Yes, awful stuff. Poor lather, and your face smells like a pie.

Pretty much what I should have expected for $3.

Do you work for Palmolive?
Is your last name Palmolive?
Did you marry someone who's last name is Palmolive?

hehehe... I'm just kidding with you. I'm guessing you've never tried a mid to expensive cream yet.

This stuff is nasty. I got it free from a PIF. But it is great for one thing... when my 8 year old son wants to "shave" I whip him up a delicious bowl of this very artificially flavored cream. Yuk!

For $3.00 I prefer Arko Commando or Kiss My Face or The Real Shaving Company ($5 regular price, $3 on sale)

Palmolive is awesome. I love its clean soapy scent. I find it really slick. :thumbup1:

YMMV is par for the course :001_rolle

the green palmolive is actually made in europe. i really enjoy it nice smell, lathers well and isn't too expensive. the indian creams can be had for cheap if you can find them in a local store. ordering them online can get a bit expensive.

example: i found a tube of nivea and old spice in a local indian grocery store for $3.50 online they go for anywhere between $10-$14.

Saw this stuff from an ebay seller in India. Anyone try it?

Yes, I've tried it. I bought it rather on the cheap from a U.S. vendor, just to satisfy curiosity. Overall, I would not rate it as awful, but neither is it a good performer. It is difficult to whip up a good stand-up lather, and when you finally do get close, it wilts quickly. I attribute this to the fact that the stuff contains dimethicone, a silicone lubricant, but dimethicone is also used to break up gas bubbles when ingested in the common OTC digestive remedies. The base is stearic acid, a fatty acid which is one of the components of tallow. Being fatty acid-based, it does not tend to dry out the skin. I agree with all the posters on the artificial lemony scent. Definitely a yukker there.

I would disagree.
It's cheap (very cheap here in the UK ~£1.50-£2.00) but not bad. It's perfectly useable.
There are better creams out there but it's hard to beat for value for money.
