I was going to order some blades for my first SE. What are your thoughts on PAL blades and GEM Persona? Blade selection is limited compared to DE shaving.

If I'm not mistaken, both are made by ASR. Here in NJ, I can snag a 10 Pack of GEM Stainless blades for $4.50

I found some ASR blades at my local Rite Aid. They tarnish/rust after one use and I've been removing them from the razor and wiping them off after shaving. I'm afraid to use them for a second shave.
Those are probably the Blue Star Gem Blades, the blades I refer to as the Vega of Blades, since that particular model was rumoured to start rusting in dealer showrooms. Wiping the blade off with alcohol or soaking it in alcohol will prevent the rusting.

Blue Stars are probably my all time favorite blade of any sort as they are so smooth when you get a good pack, but they only have one shave in them a piece... I've heard PALs are pretty miserable, but I've never tried. People seem to love Treets, but I've had no luck with them.I bought a bulk amount of pellas, and while I like them, they aren't as smooth as the carbons. 6-8 shaves each though.
I just finished 12 shaves with a Ted Pella. YMMV
