p160 burns my face

Fellas,

I have been using p160 for about a month now. It has given me some great shaves, and most days everything is fine. There have been 3 or 4 days when this stuff just burns my face when I lather up. I only have 1 brush, so no change there. It happens before the blade even touches my face, so that should not be a factor. Does this soap/putty do this to anyone else?

Yes, same here. For me it is the almond. My face can not take it. So, no Cella (alas) and no P160 for me.

P.160 is incompatible with my face too. I attribute it to the benzyl alcohol—sweet almond fragrance. Cella is okay however, Valobra is bordering on what I can handle. Col. Conk Almond, which has a similar sweet almond fragrance as P.160, is out for the same reason.

I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't the only one. Are you using a valobra shave stick or the putty-like soap?

I picked up a sample from a member recently, had my first shave with it last night and again this morning...what a fantastic soap though I absolutely don't care for the smell...just glad that it fades pretty fast when you start lathering. Very moisturizing, soft, creamy soap that's easy to lather. No irritation yet so I might just be good with this...now I want to try cella!

I also picked up some from a member recently. Got a decent shave but also didn't care for the scent at all. Also got a little irritation from it but I only tried it once. I'll try it again when my new brush comes in

If you only get irritation 3 out of 25 shaves, I would investigate technique or other factors more than the shave cream. Maybe you got a little too close the day before, borderline irritation that the cream is causing to flare up?
