What's new

Over-application is not a new phenomenon.

Who ever knew that the forbears of today's Axe-oversprayers were immortalized in opera?

I listened to Puccini's 1917 opera La Rondine today and was greatly amused by this exchange between two older gentlemen following the departure of the young Ruggero after he had paid a brief visit.

Prunier: He had all the perfume of his youth. The air is full of lavender. Can't you smell it?

Rambaldo: I smell it and I'm getting out of here because of it! Good evening.

Things really never change.

There's a whole thread about that guy:

I'm that guy.

I worked with "The Public" and I used to just love those guys that not only stunk the place up, but then shook hands and I had some sort of cloying Brut or Hai Karate crap on my hand that would not wash off
