What's new

Ouch...

Been using a SR again this week after several years layoff. Never really got into it, but have been inspired to give in another go. Honed it up nice and slow, then went to test it's sharpness with the hair cutting test...well I acted a little carelessly while swinging the SR and hit my left thumb holding the hair. Luckily most of the blade hit my fingernail, but I did put a nice little cut in the skin south-east of the nail....it stopped bleeding, and does not look that bad..so hopefully I will not have to stitch it up later....

Just thought I would post this to remind all newbies that you are dealing with sharp objects so be careful when starting out.....

You have inadvertantly combined both the thumbnail test and the hanging hair test all in one fell swoop (so to speak....)

Crazy glue works great for those pesky cuts that won't stop bleeding. I think that was what it was originally made for. It does sting a bit though.
