Opinions Wanted...

Hey all. So, I'm trying to round out an order on WestCoastShaving to get free shipping. I have room for one more aftershave/cologne. I'm looking for something more summer oriented. So far, in my cart I have chosen:

1. Alt-Innsbruck (can't wait to try this stuff!!!!)
2. D.R. Harris Sandalwood (ditto)

As the above two would suggest, I am most interested in getting an aftershave that has a divine scent with long staying power.

Looking forward to everyone's suggestions!!!

He carries so many great aftershaves it's hard to pick, but I have and enjoy TABAC, TOBS Mr. Taylors, Proraso, DR Harris Marlborough and Speick.

Proraso and Marlborough are both are pretty much gone scent-wise in 2 hours tops.
Speick and Mr. Taylors by lunchtime.
Tabac lasts a good long while.

I like them all, but I'd give Speick and Mr. Taylors a slight edge because I really enjoy those 2 scents over the others.

Good Luck.

Speick...The smell is great, but staying power is only so-so

I would have also suggested Ogallala Bay Rum and Sandalwood, but they appear to be sold out.

Ditto on the Provence Sante Green Tea.

For something without any staying power, or even that much of a scent (but still freakin' great as an AS) I'd go with Thayer's Medicated Superhazel.

I own both of the ones you mention and really like both. Since you are wanting one for summer use, you might prefer the Alt Innsbruck as it has a nice menthol kick. For a more summer-type scent, you might also consider Harris Arlington which is a nice citrus-fern combination. I'm not sure the aftershave version will be long-lasting but it is definitely a nice spring/summer scent.

I haven't used the DR Harris, but i can say that if forced to choose the Alt-Innsbruck just might be my ONLY aftershave.

Love the Alt as well, for spring try DR Harris Arlington, Musgo real, Proraso splash, Citricol, and one of the best skin wise SPEICK....The great thing about AS is that they are relatively inexpensive and you go through them, so you can get a broad spectrum. I would also recommend SCS aftershaves, best bang for the buck in town. The Lime EO is terrific.

For the majority of these AS's you will not get fragrance from them after a short while, the exception being the D.R. Harris Sandalwood you choose.
You would want an EDT or Cologne for fragrance.

Big +1

After reading this thread, I went and picked up some Alt-Innsbruck. So much for my self imposed acquisition ban. :blushing:
