Open Comb? mule/merkur/vintage/EJ?

I'm looking to maybe add a open comb to my current rotation. My current ones are a 40s SS, a 59 Fatboy and a Merkur HD that is seeing less and less use.

I want to try something new and it's possibly the open comb. What is the best quality, best shave, or fav of the mule/merkur/vintage/EJ?

This area is new to me and I was also think'n of our own cooncatbob's creations.

Any comments/suggestions/thoughts are welcome.

I would go with a vintage Gillette New. You can find them on ebay for around 10 bucks. Try it out & if you like it then go & purchase one of Bob's creations for that modern look.

Vintage NEW or Old Type as they are readily available. And they are the originals.

I am not familiar with the Gilettes (must have one of those some day, though!), can highly recommend the Muhle.
I own a classic R41:

Simple, elegant 3 piece design. The build quality is excellent. Grip is good with a nice pattern on the handle. Shaving is easy and comfortable.
It has a place in my rotation with its closed comb cousin:

and a Fatboy.

Take a look at the Merkur 1904. I have 9 razors in my rotation, but the 1904 in both open comb and straight bar, are my go to razors. I think if you give one a try you'll be surprized and glad you did.
