Open comb injector?

Blades are loaded into the magazine tray seen in the second picture below and are injected with the slider:

thanks for the info, looks like it could make a nice travel razor.
I'm sad i miss this one. Open comb injector must be a good shave.

That's a Schick Simplified Magazine razor model C1. It does give a great shave but the open comb is pretty aggressive. I prefer the safety bar model C3.

At this time I travel with a Type I Hydro-magic , quite agressive for me.

last question : is the loading system working good, without trouble? it seems it can be a little tricky.

I have owned a few of these and one has been problematic due to the loading tray. I find that if the tray is not in good shape the blades will not load and the loading slider can get stuck open. To fix the problem I had to be disassemble the razor to free the stuck blade and slider.

As long as the tray is good you will not have any problems. When in good working order the loading system works great and it easy to use. I found I can load seven blade in the magazine with no problem and be set for a week of traveling.

Being that these are really old, they are useless if they don't come with the clip that holds the blades. These were designed to load like a gun... you have a clip of blades that you remove from the packaging and load into the razor. So if you buy any of these repeating type Schick injectors, make sure it has the clip or that you can get your hands on an old package of the blades that have the clip. Otherwise you won't be able to use it. Then, if it does have the clip, you have to load that clip with blades. You remove the blades from their modern dispenser and stack them in the old clip.

As long as the razor has the tray/clip and it is in good condition, not crooked, it can be filled with modern injector blades.

I've got one of these, as well as some other models of magazine repeater with solid guard bars. The open comb on this one doesn't make it particularly aggressive, but it does feel rather odd compared to open comb DE razors I've used, maybe because the comb teeth are rather thick. My favorites of the Magazine Repeaters are the A and the C2.

Compared to later injectors, the blades on these are held in only by being pinched at the top; there are no blade stops at the bottom corners. Sometimes the blade holders have loosened up, and you need to find a way to compress them so they will hold the blades tightly enough.

See post # 3 in this thread for some original instructions on loading the type C.

In fact that whole thread is good to know. Marc's description of how to release a 'stuck' spring was key for my getting one apart. I was defeated in trying to adjust the spring so that it didn't require the paper clip tool.
