The only open comb I have experience with is the PAA Ascension Select double open comb. I find it a bit agressive but not terribly so and get good shaves with it even though I have sensitive skin. I don't use it every day and tend to use it when I have a few days growth. I also find it difficult to do the under the nose area so I have to be careful with it there. It's partly because the tines poke my nose so i don't go against the grain in that area like I would with a closed comb.

Solid choice. That combo is probably my most used razor. Even covered with Arko that handle has plenty of grip.
IMO the Gillette NEW SC will fit the bill. A very smooth and efficient shaver. BTW the Long Comb verison I find not as smooth.
