I was graciously given a gillette open comb by ccoppola (very cool guy for those who don't know him). It was my first comb and so far my favorite by a large margin. Thank you Mr. Coppola and B and B!!!!

Congrats. I have a Merkur 1904 open comb and it is one of my favorites.
Yean open combs are pretty good, I have an old type from around 1920 or so, a '34 TTO barberpole, and a couple of NEW types and I shave with all or them here and there, the NEW type I think gives a very good shave and the one with the short teeth is actually a very mild razor, bc

What is the differences between the old and the new? I am just discovering the combs and am excited about them.
The old type has shorter teeth, NEW longer...

The NEW is my favorite open comb DE of all time, the Good Will is pretty much the same but may have very long teeth. Glad you liked it, now all the other Gilette razors will seem weak to you!
+1 on the open combs. I really like them when my beard is a couple of three days long. For less than that I'll use the safety bar razor.

My New is one of my all time favorite razors, especially if I have like a two or three day growth on my face. Its the best.
I have been thinking about getting an open comb but have been unsure until now. I think I will try to get one to try it out.
