Opal Brush

Very little info on Opal brushes. Just won this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-sha...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Listing indicates that it is unused. Any idea on how old this brush is or how I can validate that it hasn't been used?

Nice score. It looks new to me, there is no white residue at all on the bristles from what the pic shows.

Thanks. It looks like a boar brush dyed to look like badger. Guess I'll know in a few days.

The brush arrived today and I think it is unused but it stinks like hell. Combination of boar brush and musty basement. It will probably end up being my first restoration project. Is TGN the best source for a knot. Any and all advice welcomed.
