What's new

One shaver, one razor blade brand, one shave cream and one after shave.

I just got the .84 base plate yesterday and I really like it. Does it dethrone the progress? I don't think so yet. For me anyway.

I haven't shaved with a Progress so can't comment. I've had the GC for about two months and have been steadily improving my shave with it, but the Perma Sharp Super represents a big improvement in comfort.

Gillette Slim Adjustable
Feather
Noxzema Sensitive Canned Goop
Clubman Classic Vanilla
Michelob Ultra (I am a beer person)

Modern, I'd use:
Timeless 95 OC
Personna Red
Stirling Soap
Probably Old Spuce AS

Vintage:
Tough call, but my Slim Adjustable
KAI blade
Stirling Soap
Old Spice...I have a few NOS bottles

Hi,

There was a time I would have said my life long and trusty Gillette Slim with GSB blades. But after getting a Schick L type Injector I could shave forever with it.

Yellow package "Chick" blades

Yaqi Tuxedo synthetic brush

Col Conk Natural Shave Soap

Clubman AS

I've tried some great vintage razors and a goodly number of different blades. I've gone through cheap and expensive soaps - horse hair, boar, and badger brushes - a smattering of AS. But my list is the one that works best for me.

The Gillette New LC I just picked up
Astra SP
Cella Extra Extra Purissima
Cella Lozione Dopobarba (aftershave) followed by Cella Balsamo Dopobarba (balm)

It's not called for, but I follow that with Borotalco Roberts powder.

Super Adjustable 109
Prorazo pre shave cream
Mitchell’s Wool Fat soap
Astra Blade
Witch hazel BP

20s OT
Lab Blue
Vintage Williams
Omega 49
Spanish Aqua Velva
Sounding like a broken record now, yes I really am that boring.

Razor: Gillette English Flat Bottom Tech, Maggard MR11 Handle

Blade: Kai

Soap: Tabac (Brush: Yaqi Cashmere Synthetic)

AS/Cologne: Original Stetson

Well, that'll never happen. But I'll play along.

Vintage Gillette New Deluxe head on Ikon Bulldog handle
Gillette Silver Blue
The Fat 'As Shaving Soap (If I can only have one, it sure won't be a cream. This a 50/50 combo of MWF and Haslinger Schafmilch.)
RazoRock 400 with butterscotch handle and noir knot (can't shave without a brush so I'm adding one in there.)
Pinaud Clubman

Blackland Blackbird or Dart. I’d be fine with either
Gillette Platinum
Murphy and McNeil Crann Bethadh
WSP Gaelic Tweed

Muhle Rocca Birch Handle
Personna Israeli Red Blade
CRSW Schapenmelk (if I have to stick with one soap, it needs to be one with a fairly neutral fragrance)
Woody's Shave Relief Balm

I'll play.
RR Game-Changer .68-p.
Feather blades.
Proraso Green pre-post.
Razorock Mudder Focker soap.
Haven't used a real aftershave in years, usually witch hazel.
