One shave of the day for the rest of your life

Friday NOvember 22

No Repeat (mostly) NOvember. No repeats so far except for scuttle, blades, and alum. Up today, one of my Heljestrand lather catchers with a Heljestrand wedge blade.

Bowl/Scuttle - GP12
Soap - Barristers Reserve Cool
Brush - ThatDarnRob 26mm
Blade - CV Heljestrand Wedge (3)
Razor - CV Heljestrand lather catcher
Post Shave - OSMA Pierre alum, Barristers Reserve Cool A/S

Shave rating 4.5 of 5

It was a tale of two passes. Didn't shave yesterday so shaving on 2 days growth. First pass WTG felt like I was pulling each whisker out. Thought I would have to stop and switch razors and blades. Finished the first pass and my face still felt like 60 grit sandpaper. I don't know why but decided to keep using razor and blade for 2nd pass. Relathered and did 2nd pass ATG and what a difference. This pass was smooth and everything was cut except my face. Finished the 2 passes DFS+. Maybe the blade could use a touch up on the 20k hone but it really shouldn't after 3 shaves. Anyway, love the scent of this soap and A/S but for some reason, I don't use it much. I thought the alum would be vocal but it was surprisingly silent. As noted, the A/S smells nice.

Happy NOvember and great shaves everyone.

I had to share because this combination produced am amazingly smooth shave. It began with Talbots Chittenango Creek lathered with a Declaration Theodore Blood of Kings (B3). After brushing on the lather, an Asylum RX holding a Schick Proline was used to remove the stubble, and Floid Blue provided the finishing touch.

Razor: Parker Variant. (Settings) wtg 1.5, xtg 1.5, atg + Pick ups 2.

Greetings,

A new near turkish themed shave set up to start the weekend..

The derby premium i find pair together with my more aggressive razors. I now know after the first few seconds into my shave if a blade is suited to my skin type or not, the derby premium i find very smooth with no tugging issues with a smooth efficient edge, which is completely different to it's sibling the derby Extra...However i've mentioned before thinking back now it was my 100% no respect for the razor, lack of technique & shaving confidence that resulted in the nasty bite i encountered from the derby extra blade when i first started out..I still have a few in my vast assortment of DE blades, which i'll add to my blade rotation in future shaves to see what result i'll get.

A very enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups bbs silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous Splash of the newly acquired Osmanli turkish lemon cologne.

My face is feeling super smooth and smelling devine.;)

Enjoy the start of the weekend, ladies & gentlemen.

Have been trying unsuccessfully for the past two weeks to use a OneBlade Hybrid razor! Clearly a razor for those transitioning from Cartridge razors! Didn’t like the pivot spring in the device or the shave! Not my cup of tea! So on this beautiful, sunny Saturday, I selected one of my favorite razors to celebrate, my Feather Stainless. Many complain that this is a mild razor, but it is far from that! I have heavy dense whiskers and can count on this razor to always deliver an incredibly close, comfortable BBS to both face and noggin when loaded with a Feather blade. Lovely shave, I feel clean, smooth and refreshed and ready for the day!
