One Horrid Automobile

Hello everyone. I have had the chance for the past few days to ride in a vehicle so horrible it makes me long for a bicycle. My aunt is in town, thus her daughter has been driving her around and such. I have been on hour long trips in this vehicle the past few days and have been in this vehicle with 6 people. The vehicle is the Chrysler Grand Caravan. What a terrible car.
The power sliding doors are annoying, the second row bucket seats have no leg room, if you are in the back seat it is hard to get in and out, you can not hear the conversation from the back seat because the rear AC air intake sounds like a vacuim cleaner. The worst thing is the ride, wow can you say kidney punch? The funny part is she paid $30K for it, she got ripped off dude. LOL I think I will keep my 16 year old Ford Escort. LOL

My aunt paid 26k for a kia that is horrid imho. Its an 08 and there is a handful things still wrong with it. Before that care her and her ex husband had bought a 07 kia minivan and when the ps hose blew up while on a trip there wasnt a replacement part in all of north america. It took 2 weeks or so to get here from korea. For 26k there are alot of better safer nicer cars around

The Nano is a pretty crummy piece of junk.
Some of the other models of Tata are pretty nice though.
The roads in India can be really bad away from the city, and these cars are built to take it.

Bad as that Grand Caravan might be, nothing tops the Ford Pinto. It was the only car ever made where the rear bumper was made of flint. If you got rear-ended, you were toast!

Chrysler Grand Caravan or Dodge? Chrysler makes the Town and Country (I know same thing but nomenclature) What year is it? My in-laws have a 2006 that as far as minivan goes is pretty decent, rides ok, has really good leg room for the captains chairs, not the greatest for the third row but IMO nothing short of a suburban has a decent third row.
Now some of the older Caravans are kinda junky but mind you they don't have the greatest durability and tend to get beat up pretty hard.

My sister has a Town & Country. It isn't half bad as a family hauler (three kids and two Labs) and gives them little trouble. I've driven it and while it doesn't compare to the 5-speed coupes I prefer, it's OK. If I had a family, I'd consider one.

It doesn't give her any trouble, either, unlike quite a few so-called luxury cars I've seen. Also, parts are available anywhere. You can get a belt, hose, fuel pump, etc. pretty much anywhere.

They might not be the height of fashion, but neither are they engineered to screw over their customers like some brands that deliberately engineer their cars to be insanely expensive to repair.

Interestingly, Tata Motor group acquired Jaguar/Land Rover from Ford. They restyled the XJ. I like the updated look. Hopefully it won't go up in smoke.

a car built monday morning wont have the same quality as one built wesnday afternoon,

would you trust something done monday morning or friday afternoon ?

That hasn't been true in at least 20 years, since robotics/automation took over most of the assembly work of new cars.

I don't know, man. Have you ever seen a hungover robot after a crazy night out on the town? It ain't pretty. I'm sticking with the Wednesday afternoon theory.

My two all time horrible cars that I have owned would be a Le Car, Saturn.
The Saturn was junk, had interior that you could not get clean, weird things mechaniclly that kept going wrong ie spark plug shooting, air damper bib undrneath had two springs that kept popping out at a cost of $110.

I had a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am as my first car, I got the car in 06 and promptly got rid of it in 08. I replaced the alternator on it 3 times, the last time being when the piece of **** caught fire. The driver's side footwell became a lake during any kind of rain, and then a mushroom farm after the rain stopped. The paint peeled worse than a sunburn, the traction control was a joke, the front bumper broke in a 3 mph collision (waiting to leave my parking place after school one day when someone backed into me), the trunk leaked, the driver's side seat collapsed (and I had to use a hacksaw to get it out and weld a new seat in, see the problem of leaking to figure out why it did this), the window regulators went out with such regularity that I had a box of them in my trunk....I feel your pain.
