A wonderful afternoon shave. Another big improvement had me grinning from ear to ear. Distilled water was discussed on some threads last week. We have to use it in our humidifier so I have plenty of it available. Only a cupful is required to soak the boar, and a splash to bloom the soap. Using SV Felce Aromatia exclusively for the last few years, I know it well. I’ve never had issues or problems with my lather. We have soft water which is excellent for producing great lathers. I didn’t anticipate a big improvement with the distilled water, and as usual I was wrong. The lather was noticeably creamier. This increased the slickness of the lather. Both face and head shaves were ATG Single Pass. The head shave was extremely close and comfortable. My skin comfort the best I’ve had this winter.

I’m not surprised at the praise the SOC Taj handled boars get. It was one of the easiest boars I’ve broken in. It is completely broken in. Its performance is stellar in all lathering aspects. The cloud softness scrubbing and painting
was pure luxury. The creamy lather provided the best slickness I’ve experienced with the Felce. The improved glide raised efficiency cutting back on follow up clean-ups. I had a hard time curtailing my head lathering it felt so good I just never wanted to stop.

The two big improvements in drying winter air this month. Nightly skin moisturizing before bed and distilled water for lather making. Neither of which are software or hardware changes. Both making large improvements to shave efficiency and skin comfort.

I will be using distilled water for all my brush soaking, soap blooming, and lathering going forward.
