What's new

On Knots.

Gentlemen,
I've been doing a little research here and there about different grades/ types of brushes. I'm curious to know your opinions regarding different grades of badger and their strengths/weaknesses, and your thoughts concerning different knots (horse, boar, synthetic). Also, maybe I've just missed it, or it was too long and I didn't read, but what are the advantages for different knot shapes (fan, bulb, etc.)

Thanks in advance, I always look forward to the combined wisdom and experience in your answers. Have a great day!

You really should do more research here through the search function, and sit back and watch all the comments that come in on brushes. Asking in this post is good, but please realize that there are years of opinion contained on Badger and Blade. And I would ask you to add to your post with details on what you have used/are using now in the way of brushes, whether you prefer soaps or cream or both, and how you lather (face, bowl, palm). All of these details will help people wish to provide their views.

I think you aren't getting responses because the question is so broad it's hard to know where to start (or stop) in giving an answer. The information linked below should serve as foundation for asking more narrowly focused questions, and as the first reply noted, it's easier to respond to a question framed in the context of your own experience and preferences, unless you really haven't established any yet. Hope this helps.
