What's new

OMG! I've got a badger ! I've got a badger!

Just returned home with this beauty. It's a Jaguar Solingen R260 made in Austria and I bought it for 30 euro. I still haven't tried it because I'm on a "no shave period"/again/. Should I do anything to it before using it for the first time? Like shampooing or conditioning it, just rinsing it or?
It's amazingly soft and quite large compared to my two boar brushes. I don't know anything about the hair quality though. I saw some darker cheaper ones ,that are probably pure badger , so is this Best badger?
Sorry , I'm kinda excited :biggrin1:

Nice looking brush. I always clean my new brushes using a method similar to this prior to using them. After a good cleaning they usually get a good test lather or two to help break them in and mask that badger stank (if its noticeable).

Congratulations on your new brush. It does look like a very nice best badger.

I usually just shampoo mine before the first use with a mild shampoo. No need for conditioner. Some people just do a test lather with shave soap/cream. Rinse well and enjoy.

+1, I've cleaned some, shampooed others and test lathered others still or any combination of the above.

I just gave it a wash with shampoo and a test lather and I was impressed at how much water and lather this thing can hold. After I rinsed off the lather and gently squeezed the excess water it just doubled it's volume. Wow:biggrin1: My boar brushes always look smaller after use , but look at the badger pwning a dry small boar :biggrin1:

That's a common reaction!

Hey just wondering:001_rolle Will the brush return to it's Original shape or will it remain in bloom forever? :biggrin1: Sorry , I'm a noob with badger

When completely dry, they do 'stand up' a lot more, but depends on the brush. Also, time to fully dry depends on how dense it is.
