Omega Silver-tip Badger Brushes

I am looking at the Omega Silvertip Badger Brushes, models 618 or 622, on ..............com. Are these good brushes? I am also looking at the Edwin Jaggar Silver-tip Badgar Brushes, which are more expensive. Are the EJ's a better brush than the Omega?

Thanks,

DRW

I have Silvertips from each of the two makers you mention, both are excellent. I really enjoy the Omega, but consider the Jagger to be of superior construction. I think you'd do well with either.

I just did a review of an Omega 636 silvertip in the brush reviews section. It had a little QC issue with some paint, but the knot is really nice, and the shorter loft gives it good backbone.

That 636 looks like quite a good deal. I'd consider getting one too if I needed another brush. Did the handle feel pretty solid on it?

Yes, the handle was solid. The issue was the paint at the bottom of the handle. When I received it, it was coming off. West Coast shaving offered to refund the money, but I felt that at the price, it was something I could live with, and I just did not want to go through the hassle of sending it back. John over at West Coast is a stand up guy, and a great vendor. Keep in mind that if you like really large handles, this one is not. It is solid though, and gives a good grip. Knot really bloomed out, and is really soft.
