What's new

Omega Pro 49 arrived! Wow!

Are you for real? $10?

My favorite brush has been the SOC - I'm a boar guy and I ordered the 49 to simply see what it's like and to hit the 80$ mark at WCS.

Big brushes are my thing and does this brush deliver! I've only had a chance to soak for 5 min and palm lather for 30 seconds before rushing out the door.

Anyone use this as their go to brush? I'm thoroughly impressed with how SOFT this unbroken in brush felt upon being opened for the first time and not one hair lost. Plus the backbone!

I'm tempted to get rid of my Semogue 620 and Omega MM now.

The handle is so cool too. Sure it's plastic but red and beautifully shiny. Felt really ergonomic and tore up my soap. plus itll hold enough lather for head and face shaves! Ah the simple things in life!

I use the 48 and I am quite happy with it. The 49 is slightly smaller than the 48 I believe. Note it is the only brush I have ever used in my lifetime.

I just got a 49 from WCS 2 weeks ago to see what the all the hype's about. Well, the hype's justified.
The break-in is incredible. It just keeps getting better. The bristles are splitting like crazy.
Best brush value ever.

Pro 49 was my first brush (from WCS too). I was skeptical that it could be decent at that price. I'm really glad I listened to the good advice here and got it. The more I shave, and the more brushes I get, the more I appreciate the Pro 49. I have four brushes in my rotation now (two boar, one badger, one synthetic) and each one has its plusses and minuses. It does take the 49 some time to dry, but with two in my rotation I could be a happy camper (thankfully my wife does not read this board). Maybe it is just because it was my first brush, but everything about it seems just about right. I am still shocked by the price--I think it is the best value I have seen since I got into wet shaving.

P.S. Early on I convinced myself that it was too large for face lathering, and that I needed a smaller brush so I could palm the handle and better control it. This helped me collect more brushes. Now I primarily face lather and have no difficulty with the Pro 49 at all.

I used it tonight and it did not disappoint! I tried the blow drying technique and I'm amazed at a) the lack of hair loss b) progress made!

I'm going to post pictures shortly

As promised

I have 2 49s that I rotate, living near the ocean. I have a lot of brushes, but that red Pro 49 is the one I reach for most often.

The #49 was my first boar, and it made it really easy learning to use soaps. After a lot of months of use, it's softened up nicely so it has a really pleasant scrub on the face.

Pro 49 is the only brush I use except when I travel. I converted from various finest and best badger brushes. The Pro 49 is all the brush that I need.

Got a red and a white 49. Both are excellent perfomers, and great value for money. I took mine apart and poured some polyester resin into the handle to give it some heft.

I had a 49. It was soft and could shred some soap, but I felt it just to big and hogged a bunch of product. I PIFed it to a guy I got headed down the right path.

th Omega Pro 48s and 49s are great brushes. When you read the specs you think they are going to be too big, but mine doesn't splay out at all and feels no bigger on my face then most of my mid sized badgers. Of course they're great for bowl lathering, but I find mine surprisingly good for face lathering too.If you haven't tried it that might seem impossible given its size, but all I can say is it works.

I have the Pro 48 and I am constantly amazed at how easily it builds great consistent lather! You can't beat the value for the price! Definitely one of my favorites.
