Omega Brushes - What's the deal?

I have noticed that there is very little discussion about Omega badger brushes on this site of any others for that matter. Their Boar brushes are highly regarded, but not much data on the badgers. Is this because they are not good, or do the other manufacturers just garner more attention and the Omegas are "sleepers"?

I think that this might be, in part, because their boars are so good. I think you have a similar situation with Semogue, where their boar brushes are so good that people forget to mention the others (as much).

+1 on Minty's comment.

I have an Omega Stripey Pure Badger (from Amazon ~$30 shipped, sometimes less). It's a great brush with an acrylic handle. I have 2 Omega boar brushes and a Semogue - all 3 are great boar brushes.

There isn't consistent praise for the wooden handles. I would stay with the acrylic.

I have an Omega 620 Silvertip and love it..

Very nice brush for both creams and soaps.. I prefer to use it with creams though. Certainly a "sleeper"

I haven't tried their badger brushes yet. Well that isn't completely true. I have a mixed badger/boar #21047, which is an awesome brush by the way.

I'm going with sleeper. I've used an Omega Pure Badger and a Silvertip. Both are very nice brushes. I've been meaning to try one of the mixed brushes. The idea sounds really nice. The water retention and whipping action of badger and the stiffness of boar all in one.

They're sleepers.

Excellent quality, Floppy luxuriously soft, good backbone, good value. Recommended.

That's good to hear, I am thinking about getting that 636 with the deep amber handle. 49mm loft, 21mm knot, in what they call their finest silvertip. I am hoping the shorter loft will give it just enough backbone while still being luxurious at the tips. Right now the best badger I have is the Badger & Blade Essential. How do you think this brush will compare?
