Old Spice Mug vs. Edwin Jagger Mug Review

I'm a 2 month old wet shaver so still trying out new things. For my set-up I have a new Jagger shave mug that I use with Bigelow Shave Cream. It works great when I get my water to cream proportions right, but that's another story... Yesterday I found an early 1960's Old Spice Mug for $3 so bought it. Tried it this morning to compare with my Jagger mug. I found that the O.S. mug felt too shallow and the lather wanted to overflow. I think the O.S. mugs were actually made to have a soap puck in the bottom so maybe its not a fair comparison, but I'd say the Jagger mug is worth the money in comparison.

Yea, the OS mug is nothing but a glorified soap dish. Nothing to get excited about. Just send it to me and I'll dispose of it properly.

OK, so the tone of that first line isn't quite right. The Old Spice mugs work really well if you are going to load your brush in them and then actually build the lather someplace else. A lot of guys build the lather on their face or in a bowl so don't have to have as large a vessel to hold the puck of soap. Building lather off the puck tends to not use up product quite so fast.

The EJ mug is more of a soap holder as well, its not really a good size for bowl lathering. You want to get yourself something along the lines of a dip bowl or larger.

Good points! Its a cool novelty so I guess I'll keep it to hold cotton balls or fill the shave den. Sorry PugslyCat, no disposal services need!

Wow, I am amazed a two month old is wet-shaving let alone typing on the internet. I am quite impressed and believe your parents should focus your prodigy abilities to something that could help with world scale problems. Don't get me wrong, I think it is great that you are appreciating wet-shaving at such a young age but I do think that there are a lot of other things to worry about before you actually grow some hair to shave.
